These are not Roman fire-starters (Feuerschläger)! They are of the 18th to 19th century. There is not any connection with the Napoleonic wars! The material is brass, I did an analysis of metal more than 30 fire-starters. I'm working on a professional study on this topic. In the Czech Republic already I know about more than 300 findings. I wonder how often and what types are located in Germany. I would ask you to send photos of your findings fire-starters.
