Separation was better, but this is NO DEEPER than the E-TRAC! At least this one isn't.... Picked up the EXACT same stuff with the CTX as we did with the E-TRACS in an area that SHOULD have given up more! The 'balance' on the machine is 'superb', but I think that a water hunt will take that away somewhat, but still a LOT better than that of the E-TRAC. Color display is GREAT as well... It did seem to have a bit better Target ID on coins that were, or close to being on 'edge'. All of the signals that we heard with the CTX could ALSO be heard with the E-TRAC... Some of the signals 'seemed better' with the CTX as well. Although I can't speak for targets in the ground just yet, 'NULLING' is still somewhat of an issue when IRON is on TOP of silver dimes when doing some Air Tests.
Unfortunately it kind of ends there... This machine suffers EXACTLY the same problem that the E-TRACS do on CANADIAN coins!! JUST AWFUL! I really thought they would have had that ironed out with this unit! As such, this machine is NOT an 'all around' machine for many of the parks and areas with lots of clad. THAT IS EXTREMELY disappointing!
Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the unit 'right now', but only time will tell. Regardless, I think I did a good thing by 'waiting' to purchase. Having said that, the 'Owner' of this machine seemed a bit disappointed with his purchase and I think he expected more.
The OTHER machine comes in tomorrow or on Thursday, so I'll update this to see if there is any difference in the two machines and will bring the E-TRAC as well and compare target ID, Depth, etc...
